Model UN simulations engage hundreds of thousands of students each year, providing them with a deeper understanding of the principles of the United Nations and its operations. Many of today’s leaders in fields such as law, government, business, and the arts – including prominent figures at the UN itself – began their journeys through Model UN experiences as students.

At Guru Ghasidas University, we proudly continue this tradition through our flagship event, GGV Model United Nations Conference (G'MUN). Our commitment is to connect students with the foundational values of the UN and the pressing issues of our time. G'MUN serves as a vital educational platform where students can explore the principles of international diplomacy, engage in substantive debate, and gain insights into the workings of global governance.

The United Nations actively supports Model UN simulations by fostering robust connections between the UN and Model UN participants. This support involves sharing first-hand knowledge about the UN’s operations at Model UN conferences, guiding organizers to create realistic and educational simulations, and encouraging Model UN clubs to undertake meaningful actions that align with UN values and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In recognition of the global impact of Model UN in inspiring young people to engage with UN initiatives and advance international cooperation, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 77/336 on “Model United Nations.” This resolution underscores the importance of Model UN as a tool for education and advocacy, and we are honored to contribute to this mission through G'MUN at Guru Ghasidas University.

G'MUN 2024 reflects GGV’s core mission to stimulate critical thinking and foster comprehensive analysis of global, national, and state-level issues among students from across the country. This inaugural edition of G'MUN offers a distinguished platform for participants to engage in meaningful discussions on significant global and national topics while showcasing their skills in diplomacy and argumentation.
Aligned with the visionary theme of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” this year’s G'MUN will explore the theme of “Bharat as the Vishwaguru: Guiding the New World Order.” This theme will guide our sessions, encouraging delegates to bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to contemporary global challenges and opportunities.
Our dedicated team has crafted an inspiring and challenging agenda for this first edition, designed to engage and motivate our delegates to exhibit their critical thinking and diplomatic expertise. G'MUN 2024 will feature four dynamic committees, each focused on addressing crucial issues of global importance.
